The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and Prosveshcheniye Holding announce the launch of partnership

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and Prosveshcheniye Holding have signed a partnership agreement in the sphere of education through art. The agreement was signed by Marina Loshak, director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and Vladimir Uzun, president of AO Holding Company “Prosveshcheniye.”

Collaboration between the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and Prosveshcheniye Holding promises a wide range of events, mostly for school and university students. These events will be based on the Museum’s collections, which will be used for educational purposes. In addition to topic-based guided tours, which the Pushkin State Museum has organized throughout its history, methodological work on educational materials in various disciplines will also be offered.

One of the most attractive aspects of the partnership is related to the exhibition program. (The exhibitions “In the Family Circle” and “European Still Life from the Collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts” were chosen as pilot projects). Regional exhibitions with a full educational program are planned, including workshops with Museum experts and school teachers, as well as classes that could eventually form a system of professional development for school educators.

The collaboration will also include efforts directed toward engaging large families and orphans in the Museum’s life. Inclusion, work with children and adults with special needs, is currently one of the Museum’s priorities. New projects are planned in this area together with Prosveshcheniye Holding.

The Pushkin Museum staff always keeps in mind that Ivan Tsvetaev created his Museum primarily for the young generation. In this respect, the first result of our collaboration is symbolic: the Museum has prepared a guide to the Ivan Tsvetaev Educational Art Museum, which was published by Prosveshcheniye Holding.

Marina Loshak, director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts

“The cooperation agreement will be the basis for joint social, cultural and educational projects: exhibitions, conferences, lectures, and other programs, which will be dedicated to the world’s artistic culture and aimed at art education, as well as the development of aesthetic taste in the young Museum visitors.”

Vladimir Uzun, president of AO Holding Company “Prosveshcheniye”

“The world's artistic culture plays an important role among the disciplines studied in school today. It influences the harmonious development of a child and the acquisition of skills that are so necessary in the 21st century. The Museum is the custodian of Russia’s and the world’s cultural and artistic traditions, so our goal is to pass these traditions, knowledge, and experience on to students, teachers, and parents from different parts of our country.”
